MEET THE RECIPIENT OF 2026 ACE ICONIC POLITICAL AWARD . 16Th Edition

Adedapo Lam-Adesina was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, into a politically influential family. He attended Ayodele Nursery and Primary School before progressing to the prestigious Government College Ibadan (GCI). After briefly studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The Polytechnic Ibadan, he earned a degree in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering from the University of Ibadan.

Professional & Business Career
Before entering full-time politics, Lam-Adesina was a principal partner in Skipet Oil Nig. Ltd., gaining private-sector experience in the oil and gas industry. He also co-founded Future Initiative Nigeria, a youth-driven organization focused on empowering young Nigerians, and has served on advisory boards including for youth-focused advocacy groups.

Political Career
Lam-Adesina began his public-service journey in 1998 as pioneer secretary of a youth wing of a local party chapter. His political profile grew when he was appointed Commissioner for Youth and Sports, and later Commissioner for Industry, Science and Technology in Oyo State under Governor Abiola Ajimobi, where he led youth development policies and improved sports and vocational initiatives.

He was elected to represent Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency in the 8th National Assembly (2015–2019), bringing development programs directly to his constituents, including infrastructure projects, empowerment schemes worth millions in support to youth and traders, and the first federal constituency accountability town-hall meetings in the state.

As of early 2026, Lam-Adesina served as Special Assistant on Political Affairs (South West) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a role that places him at the center of strategic political planning in the region.

Notable Recognitions

Lam-Adesina was honoured with an Outstanding Leadership Award by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Scandinavia chapter in recognition of his performance in public service and as a source of inspiration for youth and democratic engagement.

A number of community organizations and institutions — including schools and civic groups — have conferred Awards of Excellence on Lam-Adesina for his philanthropic engagement and contributions to education, welfare, and community development across Ibadan.

During his tenure as Commissioner in Oyo State, he accumulated over 300 unsolicited awards and recognitions from civil society, sports associations, and community bodies for his developmental impact and service delivery.

The “ACE Award” concept — often standing for Achievement, Community & Excellence — is typically given to individuals who have shown outstanding performance, community impact, and leadership beyond expectations.

Lam-Adesina’s record of achievements aligns closely with these criteria:

Achievement: Successfully led major government ministries — driving youth empowerment, infrastructural improvements, and performance enhancements across several sectors.

Community Impact: Through his Omo Oloore Foundation, constituency empowerment schemes (training, equipment distribution, water and road projects), and direct scholarships to indigent students, he has improved lives and economic opportunities for thousands in his community.

Excellence: His leadership in holding the first accountability town-hall meetings in Oyo State and sustained engagement with constituents — plus the breadth of awards and honours he has received — reflect excellence in service and responsiveness to public needs.
