Dr. AnuoluwapoAyodeleBankole (nee Soyemi) was born into the family of Chief S.E.O. Soyemi of blessed memory (The late Bajito of Igbeyin, Abeokuta) and Mrs C. O. Soyemi JP (nee Osoba) of Ago Oba, Igbore, Abeokuta. Her Paternal Grandfather was Reverend Canon S.E.O. Soyemi of Bishop Ajayi Crowther and Sir Herbert Macaulay Stock; while her maternal Grandfather was Chief Adebiyi, the Late Balogun of Egbaland
Anuoluwapo Ayodele Bankole barged her Ph.D in Adult Education from the prestigious University of Lagos. She started her primary education at Trinity Nursery and Primary School, Ijaye, Abeokuta. She attended Rev. Kuti Memorial Grammar School and later Baptist Girls College for her Secondary Education. She trained as a teacher at the Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta where she got her NCE in Business Education.
She later proceeded to Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-iwoye, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and she graduated with a Second Class Upper. She was admitted for her post graduate studies at the University of Lagos, where she got her Masters’ Degree in Education (M.Ed).
A distinguished academician, astute researcher and an educationist par excellence, Dr. Mrs. Bankole taught for a number of years at the prestigious Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta as a pioneer staff. She once served at the Ministry of Education (Account Section) and Ogun State Housing Corporation (Admin. Section).
Dr. AnuoluwapoBankole is the Iya Ewe of the women’s league and the Yeye MeÈ™o of the African Church, Totoro, Owu Abeokuta. She is the Otun Suada of Gbagura and the Asiwaju Erelu of Owuland.
She is a recipient of several awards of both national and international repute. She is Matron of the Commonwealth Youth Organisation, Ogun State Chapter; Matron, Ogun State French Association, Matron, Ogun State Gymnastic Association among others.
She received Outstanding Young Person’s Award from Abeokuta Youth Chamber. She is a recipient of Purple Ball Award in recognition of her contribution towards education in Nigeria.
Dr. Mrs. A. A. Bankole has been recognized by the Rotary Club, Abeokuta as An Outstanding Educational Administrator. She is a recipient of Distinguished Woman Award from the National Council of Women’s Society of Nigeria in recognition of her impact in the socio-economic development of women in Nigeria; and Distinguished Mother’s Award by Winner’s Chapel Abeokuta.
She received Meritorious Award from The Association of Primary School Head teachers, Ogun State in recognition of her meritorious services and selfless contributions to the upliftment of primary school education in the state. She is also an awardee of Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Ogun State Merit Award in recognition of her Selfless Service in Child Development and Empowerment in Ogun State.
Chief (Mrs.) Anuoluwapo Bankole is an awardee of Grand Prix Award for Reputation and Credibility in the Development of Education in Ogun State by the Ogun State Heroes of Change; and Dignity Meritorious Award by OMARTS in recognition of her Outstanding Accomplishments and Contributions to the Development of Human Resources In The Society. She is also a recipient of Award of Excellence from National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives for providing and sustaining Quality Education System.
Her Alma Mata, Trinity Nur/Pry School Abeokuta also recognized her outstanding accomplishments and gave her Distinguished Personality Award. Equally, she has been given Alumni Award of Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta; Award of Excellence by School of Education, Federal College of Education, Abeokuta; Alumni Association Award by Tai Solarin College of Education Abeokuta Branch; Awardee of the Alumni Association of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Awardee of the Fellow Member of Chaplaincy by the Pentecostal Chaplains Inc (Chaplain Corps).She received Honours Award from St. Paul’s Cathedral Oke-Igbore, Abeokuta as the Ambassador of the Cathedral; and Award of Honour from Foursquare Gospel Church, King’s Court Assembly, Abeokuta in recognition of her selfless services to the house of God.
She was a member, Board of Governor, Ijemo-Titun High School, Abeokuta; Adviser, Adebayo Adeyemi Foundation Liberation, Grand Patroness of The Ven. & Mrs. Solomon Ayodele Ajakaye Couples’ Outreach and Life Grand Patroness of The African Church, All Souls Parish Abeokuta Diocese.
In 1994, she established Mercyland International Schools, Abeokuta where excellence and qualitative education is the watchword. The school has grown to become a conglomerate of standard schools, a reference point, and a household name in the education industry both in Ogun State and Nigeria in general.
Recently, she was inducted into the Clergy Hall of Fame by the African Church, Abeokuta Diocese.
She is happily married and the union is blessed with beautiful daughters who are happily married with children. To the glory of God, she is a grandmother.
